MALINDO AIR TO START FLIGHTS TO MIRI, SIBU DAN TAWAU IN JUNE 2013

PETALING JAYA (May 10, 2013): Hybrid airline Malindo Air will start twice daily flights from the KL International Airport in Sepang to Sibu and Tawau on June 11 and 26 respectively, and daily flights to Miri on June 14.

These three new routes are in addition to its existing four daily flights to Kuching and thrice daily flights to Kota Kinabalu.

"The introduction of the three new routes coincide with the imminent delivery of our third and fourth Boeing 737-900ER," said Malindo Air in a statement today.

To mark the launch of the new routes, Malindo Air is offering passengers one-way economy class fares including all taxes and additional fees, from RM98 to Miri, RM98 to Sibu and RM138 to Tawau, while one-way business class fares will start from RM499 to all five destinations.

"We are committed to offer fares at affordable cost and are constantly looking for ways to expand our reach, improve our services, enhance our guests' in-flight cabin experience and offer our guests a more diverse in-flight selection to choose at the lowest possible cost, without compromising quality," said Malindo Air CEO Chandran Rama Muthy.

"As we grow and expand our network to include more destinations, we will continue to engage all our stakeholders and build a strong emotional connection between our brand and guests that engender loyalty and national pride so that Malaysians, both home and abroad and residents in Malaysia would be proud to call the airline their own," he added.

Malindo Air has carried more than 100,000 passengers since it began operations on March 22, 2013. It plans to grow its fleet size to 49 aircraft between now and 2018, and to add another 100 aircraft to its fleet by 2028.
